saturday walk

i am seriously falling in love with where i live.  on saturday we went on a beautiful walk at the perrine memorial bridge in twin falls.  i soaked up every ounce of the perfect fall weather and could not get over how gorgeous the scenery was.

i don't think there is anything hotter than seeing david with hazel.  he is such an amazing dad.
while we were there we even got to watch bridge jumpers.  seeing people jump off the bridge was amazing yet terrifying.  i held my breath every time they jumped as i waited for their parachute to open.
it was a perfect saturday.  the best part of moving is discovering all the newness around me.  how did you spend your weekend?

a day at the fair

yesterday we spent the entire day at the twin falls county fair.  it took a little work with hazel but we still had fun.  my favorite part was the petting zoo ( i just loved the goats)!  david's favorite part was the free chobani yogurt they were handing out.  hazel's favorite part was kicking around (and rolling around) on a blanket while we sat down to eat.

country living

{view across the street}

we have been in kimberly for about a month now and are loving it--  we love the small town country living.  we love the delicious pizza place.  we love the kids playing baseball on the street and selling lemonade on the corner.  we love the friendly ward and neighbors that stop by just to say hi.  we love the cool night breeze and smell of fresh cut hay.  we love being able to see a sky full of stars normally not visible.  we are loving life.

fishy park

i guess we didn't see enough fish at the aquarium so we decided to go to the "fishy park". we actually had a lot more fun walking around the free mk nature center than we did paying to go to the aquarium. we even got a bonus while we were at the park: a herd of deer came down from the mountain and were hanging out right in the park.

aquarium

david and i decided to check out the new aquarium in boise. not the coolest as far as aquariums go and honestly not really worth the $9 per person admission fee, BUT it was fun to get out and do something different.

arizona in idaho

one thing i really miss from arizona are all the beautiful citrus trees. especially the lemon trees. i always told david that if we owned a house in arizona we had to have a lemon tree in our front yard. they are so beautiful and add a lovely splash of color. mmm and they smell so sweet. not to mention how tasty fresh arizona lemons, oranges and grapefruits are... . . i think one of the harding moving adjustments was coming from beautiful warm arizona weather with citrus trees full, flowers blooming and sun shining to cold, snowy, brown, icky idaho weather. the other day i was really missing the sun and to my delight clients at work brought in bagfuls of fresh arizona produce they brought back from a trip. all week i have been feasting on delicious, juicy, arizona oranges and grapefruits. it has made idaho weather a little more bearable. . . enjoy your friday, kira . post edit: what is going on??? now blogger won't give me any spaces!!! am i just technologically challenged or is this an issue with the website? i have never had trouble like this before!

back in the gam state

here we are in idaho! the past month has been a busy blur but we are starting to feel settled. david started work the day after we moved here and i started work just two days later, so we didn't have much time to rest and unpack. we have now been here a month and i am starting to feel adjusted enough to start blogging again!

honeymoon!

last week we went on our honeymoon to mccall, idaho. we had a wonderful time and wonderful weather. we had fun relaxing, swimming, building sand castles, going to hot springs, ice skating, bbqing, and relaxing! and it was definitely nice to have a break from triple digit arizona temperatures!

camping

this weekend i managed to steal away for a quick 2 night camping trip with some friends, and it was just what i needed! i realized that this is the closest thing to a vacation i have had in over a year! it was a blast though, we spent all day on saturday hiking, swimming, hot springing, four wheeling, s'more roasting...it truly was lovely. i'm hoping to sneak in another hiking trip before it gets too cold-- stanley again this year mom?

bliss

my dad was hooking the trailer to the truck and i was in the backseat, my precious niece asleep on my lap, exhausted after a long day of swinging, bike riding and fun at grandma and papa's house. the truck was running and the cool air conditioning was blowing as the light from the summer sunset shone on my face. a perfect moment of bliss.

drive ins

have i mentioned how much i love drive in movies? there is just something great about piling in the back of a truck with friends and to pull up next to other people and their friends piled in trucks. this weekend i went to the drive in for the second time this summer and this time i was able to go with a bunch of friends from high school that i hadn't seen in a long time to it was extra fun. another great thing about drive ins is you get two movies for the price of one, although i usually find myself dozing off during the second movie. one of the movies we saw was up. i'm not going to lie, i wasn't really looking forward to seeing in because i am not huge into kids movies, but it was a really cute movie. i would recommend it to anyone.
.
hope you all are enjoying your week. sheesh. it seems like the weekend was just here and it is thursday again already.
.
till next time,
k

gold fork

on saturday i went with D and the entire family to gold fork hot springs. it was a very long drive but the hot springs were amazing. there are several pools, i think a total of six, and they feed into each other from hottest to coolest. plus all of the pools have different minerals in them that make your skin feel oh-so-soft. plus the hot springs are in beautiful donnely and the pools are surrounded by tiki torches and there is even a giant chess set the guys had a lot of fun with.

cafe rio

tomorrow i am taking a quick road trip to twin falls with the sole purpose of eating at cafe rio. when i lived in utah i fell in love with cafe rio and have been having withdrawals since i have lived in boise where there is none. BUT, just last month twin falls opened up a cafe rio and tomorrow a friend and i are making the two hour drive just to calm our cravings. should be fun!
.
hope you are all having a lovely week,
k
