my friend lora really is just so brilliant. she always comes up with the best ideas. some of my favorites include:

cafe rio salad leftovers: it is darn near impossible to eat a whole cafe rio salad in one setting. okay, so i've done it once or twice but i always regret it afterwards. it is just too good to throw away but hard to save because of the lettuce. reheating the rice, beans and meat means heating the lettuce and heated lettuce is no bueno. her solution is to get rid of the lettuce and keep only the goods in the bottom (here is her brilliant idea), then after you reheat the reheatables you top with your own lettuce and walla! it's like a whole new salad!

frozen fruit: after she goes grocery shopping and comes home with fresh juicy produce, instead of throwing away her nearly brown bananas or starting to get mushy strawberries, she cuts up the fruit and freezes it to use later for smoothies!
