arizona in idaho
one thing i really miss from arizona are all the beautiful citrus trees. especially the lemon trees. i always told david that if we owned a house in arizona we had to have a lemon tree in our front yard. they are so beautiful and add a lovely splash of color. mmm and they smell so sweet. not to mention how tasty fresh arizona lemons, oranges and grapefruits are... . . i think one of the harding moving adjustments was coming from beautiful warm arizona weather with citrus trees full, flowers blooming and sun shining to cold, snowy, brown, icky idaho weather. the other day i was really missing the sun and to my delight clients at work brought in bagfuls of fresh arizona produce they brought back from a trip. all week i have been feasting on delicious, juicy, arizona oranges and grapefruits. it has made idaho weather a little more bearable. . . enjoy your friday, kira . post edit: what is going on??? now blogger won't give me any spaces!!! am i just technologically challenged or is this an issue with the website? i have never had trouble like this before!

back in the gam state
here we are in idaho! the past month has been a busy blur but we are starting to feel settled. david started work the day after we moved here and i started work just two days later, so we didn't have much time to rest and unpack. we have now been here a month and i am starting to feel adjusted enough to start blogging again!

monday {valentines day} i still wasn't feeling completely up to par so we decided to have a low key valentines day. dave picked me up from work and surprised me with a rose and chocolate. we had a pizza pic-nic in the park, complete with martinellis as you can see. we played our new favorite game: nerts. (thanks v).

we have been busy busy busy this week getting ready to move. That's right, we are moving back to idaho! we have had a great time here in arizona and have met some amazing people but we are excited to go back home.

camping
this weekend i managed to steal away for a quick 2 night camping trip with some friends, and it was just what i needed! i realized that this is the closest thing to a vacation i have had in over a year! it was a blast though, we spent all day on saturday hiking, swimming, hot springing, four wheeling, s'more roasting...it truly was lovely. i'm hoping to sneak in another hiking trip before it gets too cold-- stanley again this year mom?

bliss
my dad was hooking the trailer to the truck and i was in the backseat, my precious niece asleep on my lap, exhausted after a long day of swinging, bike riding and fun at grandma and papa's house. the truck was running and the cool air conditioning was blowing as the light from the summer sunset shone on my face. a perfect moment of bliss.

drive ins
have i mentioned how much i love drive in movies? there is just something great about piling in the back of a truck with friends and to pull up next to other people and their friends piled in trucks. this weekend i went to the drive in for the second time this summer and this time i was able to go with a bunch of friends from high school that i hadn't seen in a long time to it was extra fun. another great thing about drive ins is you get two movies for the price of one, although i usually find myself dozing off during the second movie. one of the movies we saw was up. i'm not going to lie, i wasn't really looking forward to seeing in because i am not huge into kids movies, but it was a really cute movie. i would recommend it to anyone. .
hope you all are enjoying your week. sheesh. it seems like the weekend was just here and it is thursday again already.
.
till next time,

pool party
this weekend i had sort of a mini high school reunion. several friends from high school were in town so we got together for a pool party. it was fun talking and laughing, having splash contests and taking action pictures.

dog days
this past week has been a busy but good one. in the past seven days i have:.
gotten a raise a work (hip hip hooray!)
made homemade pizza
gone running every day
finished one book and started another
stood 10 feet from a man being tasered and handcuffed (kind of creepy)
enjoyed snacking on fresh cherries
spent time with high school friends
.
i can't believe june is already over! i have high hopes for july though, my sister is coming in just one week.

post pinetop
i ended up having a really fun time at pinetop, although i didn't end up talking that many pictures. i did manage to snag one of the group i went up with, well, most of us. it's kind of funny because even though there were countless things to do there (swimming and hiking and volleyball...) i ended up just talking the whole time. i ran into friends i hadn't seen in a long time and also met some new friends. .
happy monday,
kira

shorts + snow
.
this last monday the plan was to drive to the mountains with my mom and my roommate vanessa to hike around and enjoy a warm day in nature. well, we drove to the mountains and it was a warm day, but when we arrived at our destination we were unable to hike around because although it was 80+ degrees , there were still piles and piles of snow on the ground. it really was an odd feeling to be wearing shorts and soaking up the sun while walking around on crunchy snow.

drive in time
with the warm weather comes more opportunity for fun outside. one of my favorite summer traditions is going to the drive in. there is just something about pulling bean bags in truck beds, cramming in with friends and watching a movie under the stars.
if you want to find a drive in near you click here.
