when one door closes:

this past weekend i went home to visit my friend crystal who is getting ready to serve a mission in chile. it was a blast hanging out with old high school friends. i got the feeling that it was the last time we would all be together as a group. we are all going off in different directions; one friend just got married, another just found out she is expecting, one is leaving on a mission, and another is moving far away. i was a little sad when i thought that things will never be the same again and then i remembered a quote by helen keller, "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us."
now i just have to find an open door and go on through.
