my husband is a big hayao miyazaki fan. hayao miyazaki is probably best known for his movie spirited away. never in a million years would i think that i would like anime (and i still would not consider myself an anime fan) but i have found a couple of hayao miyazaki movies that i quite enjoy. ponyo and howl's moving castle. both are love stories, which probably doesn't come as a shock since i like them. ponyo is based on the same fable as the little mermaid and howl's moving castle is a story about love seeing beyond appearances. i definitely recommend these movies, especially if you are in the mood for something a little different.
