tonight i was going through pictures on my computer and came across this. i don't remember ever seeing this picture, or taking it for that matter. i had to laugh because this picture is a very close representation on my life over the past 4 months. a blur. i was so excited when i found out i was pregnant and then after about two weeks the excitement turned into extreme sickness and i honestly (and thankfully) don't remember a whole lot from that time. i am finally (knock on wood) starting to feel better and i am praying it lasts.

this thanksgiving weekend made me reflect on my life and how much i truly have to be thankful for: an amazing husband, a baby on the way, a roof over our heads, food to eat and water to drink, cars that run (most of the time), a church just minutes from our home and a temple just a couple hours away, beloved family members...
i am so blessed.

may flowers

happy tuesday all. i don't know about you but i have been loving the spring weather we have been blessed with lately. i am grateful that the neighborhood i live in provides such beautiful and convenient paths for morning jogs and after-dinner walks.
.
hope you're enjoying the warm[er] weather too,
kir

tree trimming traditions

we have a holiday tradition in our family just as big as grandma's blueberry cream pie, card playing and black friday. without fail, there is an open spot in the post-thanksgiving weekend set aside for trimming grandma and grandpa's christmas tree. growing up i didn't really pay much attention to this tradition, but over the past few years it has become a favorite. it is the day that bridges the gap between thanksgiving and christmas. this tradition also bridges this year and last as we reminisce over past holiday memories. this thanksgiving i was so very thankful for family. my family. my card playing, blueberry cream pie eating family.
.
hope you're enjoying your first week of december,
kira

iVote

first of all, i am oh so happy the elections are over. the campaign commercials, mailers, signs...etc, etc,...were getting to be a little much.
.
secondly, i am so grateful for my right to vote. i couldn't help but smile as my vote was cast and it was declared, "kira cleverly has voted!" that is my favorite part of voting
.
and thirdly,
i am grateful for the new president. he may or may not be who you voted for, but
now that he is elected he is the president and we should support him. it takes a lot of courage to stand up and choose to lead this country, especially since it is such a mess right now. but just as obama said in his acceptance speech last night, "this isn't the united states of black or white, old or young, gay or straight...this is the united states of america." we are all in this together.
